I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, and while I am an avid traveler, I always seem to find my way back here. I’m a freelance photojournalist with a passion for hiking, climbing and any other outdoor activity I can dabble in. I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2018 and am currently searching for my next adventure.

I have always had a strong connection with nature. My true self shines through when I’m outside — I try to constantly be exploring. If I can’t get out in the woods, urban exploring in Atlanta is a blast, and escaping to cute little country towns and hideaways is always so fun. Outside of that, I aim to live a life of constant growth and forever leveling up to a better version of myself.

I am an avid answerer of mountain calls and chaser of waterfalls. All free time is spent in the forest with my little family using our transportation of choice — feet! A call to the wild comes with an intuitive urge to care for the places that bring me the most happiness. I’m a passionate advocator for plastic elimination, recycling, black bear conservation and, of course, leaving no trace. My passion — really, my obsession — is to get as many people to really feel the transformative connection to nature and discover theirselves.

My mom raised me frequenting the woods behind our house, so I’ve been hiking for as long as I can remember. For the past few years, I’ve hiked avidly — heading to the woods or mountains every chance I can get — and traveled all over this beautiful country to do so. Last year I went on my first backpacking trip, and I’ve since fallen in love with that type of adventure as well, slowly chipping off small sections of the Appalachian Trail. Next year, my goal is to do my first thru hike; either the John Muir Trail or the Colorado Trail. Adventure is out there!

I grew up on the West Coast with my nose in a book and my toes in the grass. My summer days were spent climbing trees and dreaming up adventures in my own backyard. As an adult, those adventures transformed into a reality when I became an active travel guide and started traveling the world. When I'm not working, you'll find me mountain biking through Utah, hiking in Switzerland or cycling the coast of California. With every new peak or road I travel, I gain a new perspective and deeper understanding of who we are. My motto is to never let go of that childlike wonder and keep exploring the natural world that surrounds us.

I grew to love the outdoors through family camping trips, school sports and Boy Scouts. My best times are spent in the woods and on the mountains. Back in 2013, I completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to complete a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. Sharing my experiences with others brings me a sense of pride and comfort knowing they will also enjoy the world around them and appreciate it for many years to come.
